Repopulating Inner-City Neighborhoods: KLBNA Visits the Manchester Citizens Corporation

In April, more than 25 KLBNA members boarded two buses en route to Pittsburgh’s Manchester District.

On the agenda was learning how to improve the community from a world-class neighborhood organization that had been there and done that.

  
  1. It’s YOUR Neighborhood. When making plans for your community’s future, no outside governmental, private or educational institution makes decisions without your permission and consultation.
  2. Discover YOUR Wealth and Leverage Every Penny. Within our boundaries are millions of dollars to leverage into millions more in future developments.
  3. Speak with an United Voice, Speak Loud and Speak Often. Involve everyone in the community to the extent they can be involved and let the area decision makers know who is in charge at every opportunity.
  4. Constantly Move Forward. Never rest on your laurels. Creating a better life and a better lifestyle for your neighborhood’s people is an ongoing and often uphill battle.
